I'm very new to this and learning as I go. So far style master has been the best tool for learning css and web design.
I am trying to load a rocket theme joomla template called dark matter to customize the color scheme and change a few things like logo some basic images maybe add a background. I'm probably misinformed at this time but I can't seem to get anything to load at all. Where to begin?

  2. Joomla is a CMS system. Most of these systems have templates or "themes". Inside each theme folder will be a folder for the CSS and a folder for the images.

My hunch is that you are building or modifying your presentation with SM locally. Be sure to check the path to the images that the Joomla system needs...

    Hi Smoothjaaz,

What you'll probably best do is open the CSS for the theme, then use either a local of online version of the Joomla site for previewing.

Load the site in your browser, then copy the URL.

no go to Style Master, and in the Preview menu (windows) or Design Menu (Mac) choose Manage Preview Documents. Then add the url as an online preview document (even if it is a local installation of Joomla running)

Now, you should see the style sheet previwed in that page at your Joomla based site.

    Does that help?

    Thanks

    john

ok, here ya go...Somehow I can't seem to grasp what to do where.. Some kind of mental block i guess. It's probably not seeing the actual structure of the entire template and document and a lack of understanding mostly.. the following is a mod of the same template.. A nice job.. I was able to copy the source code and start a new style sheet in style master.. Here is the website I would like to use a similar color scheme. http://www.opensourcedesigns.com/
    I have alot to learn!!

I figured it out.. After checking all the css styles for the various color schemes in the template.. I looked at the source code for the site in the prevoius post to see what basic scheme was used.. I was able to open both the original site and the correct css for my template. going back and forth between the two I was able to modify the color schemes to my liking. Style master made it easy!! thanks for your help!! I was confused on what to look for and where..
